CEA President Margaret Iuculano’s Op-Ed Featured in the Daily Caller

In a Daily Caller article published April 14, 2026, Margaret Iuculano argues that this tax season, Washington should choose certainty over setbacks.

As Americans file their taxes, Washington faces a larger question than paperwork: will policymakers preserve reforms that are helping businesses grow, or return to the uncertainty that has too often stalled investment and hiring? Recent federal tax changes are already giving employers more confidence to plan, expand, and create jobs, especially through permanent provisions like the 20% small business deduction, Section 179 expensing, and immediate R&D expensing.

For small and mid-sized businesses, the benefits go beyond tax savings. Simpler compliance rules and more predictable policy reduce administrative burdens and free up resources to invest in employees, customers, and communities. The law also includes practical relief for workers and families, including tax breaks on tips and overtime, expanded child-related provisions, and support for seniors who remain in the workforce.

For Christian business leaders who care about stewardship, opportunity, and human flourishing, the message is clear: stability matters. Weakening these pro-growth tax reforms now would undermine the very confidence that drives long-term growth. Washington should build on what is working, not reverse course.
