CEA President Margaret Iuculano’s Op-Ed Featured at RealClear Policy
In a RealClear Policy op-ed published March 3, 2026, Margaret Iuculano argues that family stability and economic growth are tightly linked: when families are squeezed by rising costs, workplaces and the broader economy feel the effects, but when work is rewarded and family life is supported, both businesses and communities benefit.
Writing from the perspective of the Christian Employers Alliance, she praises the “Working Families Tax Cut of 2025,” highlighting two provisions she says help employers and households alike – an expanded Child Tax Credit (CTC) and a strengthened tax incentive (45S) for businesses that offer paid family and medical leave.
Iuculano calls for additional changes: raising the CTC to its inflation-adjusted value, removing the rule that excludes the first $2,500 of earnings from CTC eligibility, and expanding eligibility for the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit so that families with earned income and childcare expenses can qualify even if one parent stays home.
She concludes by rejecting the idea that “corporate” and “family” interests are in conflict, arguing that strengthening families ultimately helps businesses and the economy.
“Looking ahead, there are several ways to further underscore this commitment to American working families. I joined a number of my colleagues in highlighting these opportunities in a recent letter to President Trump and congressional leaders.” – Margaret Iuculano
