For Immediate Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Christian Employers Alliance (CEA), a unified force of over 30,000 faith-based employers across all 50 states, is proud to announce the appointment of Debra Wimpee as Director of Alliance Engagement.

A proven leader with a distinguished career across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, Wimpee joins CEA to strengthen the connection between Christian business owners and the resources they need to flourish as stewards of the “Sacred Marketplace.” In her new role, she will lead efforts to support, connect, and empower business leaders committed to biblical values.

A Legacy of Service and Leadership

Debra Wimpee has served as the Mayor of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, since 2021, following a successful tenure as a City Councilor. Her leadership has been defined by a “service-first” mindset, earning her national recognition as one of only 12 female mayors invited by the Embassy of Switzerland for a prestigious leadership visit.

“Debra is a quintessential ‘connector’ and a dedicated servant-leader who understands the unique challenges facing Christian employers today,” said Margaret Iuculano, President of CEA. “Her record of conviction in public office and her extraordinary success in building community platforms make her the ideal person to engage our Alliance as we defend religious freedom and promote marketplace stewardship.”

A Champion for Veterans and Small Business

Wimpee’s career is marked by a profound commitment to the “Image-Bearer” in every individual:

  • Veteran Advocacy: As Executive Director of Soldier’s Wish, she raised over $1 million and granted over $1 million in wishes for service members. Her dedication earned her induction into the Oklahoma Military History Hall of Fame (2025) and the Military Order of the Purple Heart Most Patriotic Mayor Award.
  • Economic Stewardship: She is the founder of The BA Buzz, a trusted community news platform that recently surpassed 10 million monthly views.
  • Commercial Expertise: A veteran of the commercial real estate industry, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the CCIM Institute and NAIOP Oklahoma.

A Calling to be a “Light for the Lord”

For Wimpee, this role is a natural extension of her spiritual gifting. “My calling is to be a connector and a light for the Lord in the marketplace,” said Wimpee. “I am honored to join the Christian Employers Alliance to help business leaders stand as a unified force for truth, ensuring that our businesses remain a shield for our families and our faith.”

Debra and her husband, Glenne, are lifelong residents of Broken Arrow and have been married for 24 years. They are the proud parents of three children and two “grand darlins.”
